Starting this series of blogs, I need to communicate clearly. I believe the idea of vision builders can help strengthen staff and leaders who are in transition or considering transition.

Undoubtedly, we live in a time when people don’t know how to live well. There’s far too much lack of integrity in how we transition in the body of Christ, and Senior leaders struggle with insecurity or a defensive uninformed about how to develop strong leaders without being threatened by them.

I am in the fortunate position to be a Senior Pastor but have spent most of my ministry life serving the vision of another.

I am in the fortunate position to be a Senior Pastor but have spent most of my ministry life serving the vision of another—a great leader who is also one of my best friends. Together, we were able to make a smooth transition from a long-term ministry relationship. The things I’ve learned, from serving with him to completing the transition and leading my team, have taught me many things that I believe can be helpful to you and the leaders around you.

Vision builders are leaders who work under a senior leader. Their role, however significant the leader, is to build that leader’s vision. So many levels of thought and action in this context must be navigated well for true success.

There are many traps and many steps to take. These blogs are my attempt to help you take the appropriate steps and avoid the pitfalls set for you.

Vision builders are incredible people if we learn to build, collaborate, and find fulfillment in accomplishing the goal rather than elevating our role.
